FAQs

What earrings do you use?

We use the industry leading Studex range; a high-quality, hypoallergenic range of jewellery suitable for sensitive ears that do not rust or tarnish. You can view our wide variety of studs for the ears and nose in-store.

How long will it take my piercing to heal?

Pierced ear lobes take a minimum of 4-6 weeks to heal and 12-16 weeks for ear cartilage piercings.

Pierced nostrils take 2-4 months to heal, and a pierced septum take 3-4 months.

How do I look after my piercing?

New piercings are open wounds that take weeks to heal. During this time, unsafe or unclean piercing hygiene can allow bacteria to enter the wound, causing infection.

Our staff will go over piercing after-care with you following your piercing, but here's some tips:

  • Clean the piercing area(s) with recommended lotions and gels
  • Avoid unnecessarily touching the piercing area(s)
  • Spray the pierced area (provided) with the disntifectant spray at least 2-3 times a day
  • Rotate the piercing stud at least once a day, the best time is in the shower while the area is clean
  • Ensure to clean your pericing after excessive physical activity to avoid sweat build-up
  • Do not switch into new earrings until after the recommended healing period
  • Avoid sleeping on the side of your ear piercing to prevent aggravting the area

I have other earrings, is that an issue?

It's not a problem if you have previous piercings, but we do ask that you remove any other earrings before you get your ears pierced for safatey reasons.

Do I have an infection? What should I do?

If you suspect an infection following your piercing, you should see your Pharmacist or Doctor as soon as you can.

Signs of an infection following a piercing include: the pierced area may be very red/dark, swollen, painful, hot, itchy, and sometimes there may be blood or white, yellow or greenish pus.
